Kanyakumari

Neyyar Dam

 

 

The Neyyar Dam in Trivandrum was established way back in 1958 and inhabits the basins of the three main rivers namely Neyyar, Mullayar and Kallar. The Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary is worth mentioning while speaking about Neyyar Dam. The Neyyar Dam is a part of the Neyyar Wildlife Sanctuary which is a home to several animal species like elephants, wild buffaloes, wild boar, porcupines, tigers and snakes. Wild life species can be easily glanced from the watch tower of the region where you might chance to visit species like gaur, sloth bear, Nilgiri Tahr, jungle cat and Nilgiri langur, wild elephants and sambar deer. The crocodile farm, the lion safari park and the deer park are some of the main attraction of the Neyyar Dam in Trivandrum.
